Our motor vessel Petrel offers a comfortable, spacious area to enjoy a day on the water cheering on your friends and family racing in Buzzards Bay. Ample deck space provides 360-degree views and the perfect vantage point to take photos to document a day of summer racing in New England. What to know

Where your charter will go

The route of a charter depends on many factors. Wind, currents, weather, and the duration of the charter all impact what course will be chosen by your captain.

Where to go

All private charters are run out of the Mattapoisett Boatyard at 32 Ned’s Point Mattapoisett, MA Parking at the boatyard is plentiful. Simply walk to the launch dock and come out on the free, provided water taxi to Petrel where you will be greeted by your crew!

Group size

Private charters are available on Petrel for groups of between one and six guests.

Trip duration

Spectator fleet charters can be booked for 2, 4, or 6-hour-long trips. Click book now to see our availabilities!

What to bring

We recommend bringing sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, and any personal items you may need. Comfortable clothing and non-slip shoes are also advised. Snacks and beverages are welcome, but alcohol consumption should be in moderation.

Food and drinks

You are encouraged to bring your own food and beverages. Water and/or seltzer will be provided. If you bring alcohol, only beer, wine, and other non-liquor beverages will be allowed on board. Buzzards Bay Yacht Charters reserves the right to cancel or suspend any charter without a refund due to overly intoxicated guests.

Bathrooms

There is a marine head on board Petrel.
