Buzzards Bay Yacht Charters specializes in providing fun, memorable bachelor and bachelorette parties aboard our motor and sailing vessels. Private bachelor & bachelorette parties can be booked on both our sailboat Hamlet and our powerboat Petrel for 2, 4, and 6-hour trips. No boating or sailing experience is required, simply hop on board and our experienced crew will navigate you through the stunning local waters. Crank up your music, enjoy food and drinks, and enjoy the beautiful New England coast to celebrate your big day!
Hamlet
Our sailing vessel Hamlet is the perfect boat for a quintessential New England summer day out on the water. Hamlet is a 35-foot J/105 with a comfortable, spacious cockpit area with plenty of room for your party of up to six passengers to spread out, relax, and enjoy the views. Whether you want a sporty adventure, sailing fast around Buzzard’s Bay, or a quiet and relaxing cruise around the harbor, Hamlet’s sail plan can be adjusted to provide you with the perfect experience. Captain Steve’s expert skippering will navigate your crew safely on a course of your choosing, but feel free to take the helm for a photo-op and to experience the fun of sailing!
Petrel
Our motor boat Petrel is a picnic boat perfect for a cruise around Buzzard’s Bay in comfort and style. She is a Dyer 29 built at The Anchorage in Warren, RI and provides the quintessential, picturesque coastal New England cruise. Petrel has an open cockpit layout with ample space to relax with friends, enjoy food and drinks, and take in the beautiful coastal Massachusetts scenery. Captain Steve’s expert skippering will navigate your crew safely on a course of your choosing, but feel free to take the helm for a photo-op and to experience the fun of sailing!

Where your charter will go
The route of a charter depends on many factors. Wind, currents, weather, and the duration of the charter all impact what course will be chosen by your captain.
Where to go
All private charters are run out of the Mattapoisett Boatyard at 32 Ned’s Point Mattapoisett, MA Parking at the boatyard is plentiful. Simply walk to the launch dock and come out on the free, provided water taxi to Petrel or Hamlet where you will be greeted by your crew!
Group size
Private charters are available on Hamlet and Petrel for groups of between one and six guests.

What to bring
We recommend bringing sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, and any personal items you may need. Comfortable clothing and non-slip shoes are also advised. Snacks and beverages are welcome, but alcohol consumption should be in moderation.
Food and drinks
You are encouraged to bring your own food and beverages. Water and/or seltzer will be provided. If you bring alcohol, only beer, wine, and other non-liquor beverages will be allowed on board. Buzzards Bay Yacht Charters reserves the right to cancel or suspend any charter without a refund due to overly intoxicated guests.
Bathrooms
There are marine heads onboard both Hamlet and Petrel.

Making a reservation is easy! Simply visit our website, choose your preferred charter, and follow the booking instructions. If you have specific requirements or questions, feel free to reach out to us directly.
Cancellation Policy and Weather
Private Charters: Tickets aboard private charters are valid only for the date and time purchased. Cancellations made at least 10 days prior to departure will receive a 100% refund. If you cancel at least 5 days before departure a credit on another date will be provided. No refunds or credit will be given on cancellations made within 4 days of departure.
Weather Cancellations: The final decision to sail due to weather conditions resides with Buzzards Bay Yacht Charters, LLC. If your scheduled sail is called due to adverse weather conditions, you will receive a full refund, a credit for another date or you may give a gift certificate to share with a friend.
Our sails will run in light to moderately inclement weather. Don’t worry, we won’t send you out in heavy or steady rain, thick fog, high winds, or if the weather appears threatening. We will sail in cloudy, cold, or overcast conditions, so be sure to dress appropriately for the forecasted weather. When the weather looks questionable, we’ll check the radar before we leave and make sure conditions are safe.
